MARCH 2018

"My husband, my 1-year-old daughter and I stayed in Johnstown Estate for a return visit for St. Patrick's day weekend. Since our previous visit, we stayed in a newly refurbished bedroom and I have to say it was beautiful! Gorgeous decor in muted greys, huge big bed, well-appointed bathroom and a fabulous new TV. We got a lovely welcome on arrival and a nice clean travel cot had been set up for our baby. That evening we ate early in the hotel restaurant and had a beautiful steak dinner complimented by a well-chosen Malbec. Before we even ordered a baby bowl and hot milk was delivered to our baby, and for any parent who has tried to down a meal with a baby will know this is a godsend. On Saturday we went to the pool and again it was great that they not only have a very large pool but have a baby pool for "our first swim". It was also reassuring to see a very active lifeguard on duty as this is not always the case in all hotels. Changing rooms were nice and clean with a family room available for changing also. We ordered a lovely pork pulled sandwich for lunch in the bar and again a baby bowl with hot milk. There was also a children's menu available but our daughter is a huge fan of mash and veg 😀. The Ireland vs Eng rugby game was on multiple screens with options to sit in an area with or without sound. There was also a duo/band playing in the lower seating area of the hotel which all added to a great atmosphere. I was lucky enough to sneak off to the spa before and during the first half of the game and this time had the full body massage but with the addition of hot stones. It was wonderful-thanks Chloe! So overall we had a great stay and great staff. I will be honest I had stayed in this hotel a long time ago and thought it was a bit of a dive but this hotel has come so far from that now, I would now have no hesitation recommending a stay here, especially for families, although I do believe they have great corporate and sports facilities ( some well-known teams were staying during our stay). Driving home feeling a glow of relaxation, with full bellies and a happy baby ( who slept whilst there!) we decided Johnstown Estate now rivals if not surpasses local and some well known national competitors in the 4/5star category."

"Hubby and Me went away for a weekend and we were both very impressed with the hotel, staff, bar & food.
The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food in the bar was very tasty and well priced. Rooms were stylish & comfy.
Overall really enjoyed our stay."

"Myself and 4 friends all busy ladies decided to book the girlie package at The Johnstown Estate Hotel. It was absolutely perfect! We started with a delicious afternoon tea followed by treatments in the spa, relaxed in the lovely relaxing area before chilling out in our very spacious, beautifully decorated triple rooms. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant followed by cocktails in the bar, simply perfect for a girlie catch up and exceptionally reasonable too!  Time to get the next one in the calendar...

"Highly recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway. The food is amazing, staff extremely helpful and the rooms are fab. We also made use of the spa and pool area. In all, it was such a relaxing getaway. And all for a great price, I’ll definitely be back!"
