The Johnstown Estate’s refurbishment continues with the launch of The Mulberry – a stunningly luxe suite designed to hold 6 guests across two interconnecting bedrooms, and Gloss at the Spa – a jewel of a beauty room - for grooming treatments including manicures, pedicures, facials, skin analysis, make-up, tanning and brows.

These two new additions to The Johnstown Estate firmly place the hotel in the mind of brides to be and larger groups looking for a sophisticated overnight getaway within easy reach of Dublin city and suburbs.

The Mulberry is a suite which spans the width of three rooms and sleeps six with two bathrooms and three showers.  The plush lounge area includes a wine fridge, Nespresso machine, 50” TV, a Bluetooth Bose speaker and seating for everyone in the suite.

In addition, there are four hair and makeup stations lit by nearly fifty LED bulbs to ensure a flawless make-up and hair finish.

Ventura Design gave The Mulberry their signature luxe look including butter-soft velvets, subtle geometric prints and a so-very-now berry-coloured palette.

The suite adjoins a third room, which allows a further two guests to stay connected and within the space.

“This concept is totally unique to The Johnstown Estate,” says Anthony Smiddy, General Manager at The Johnstown Estate. “The idea came from the number of brides who wanted to get married from the hotel.  We wanted to develop a space where they could build memories with their ‘I do crew’ while getting ready” he added.

“It’s also a perfect spot for a group of friends who want to spend as much time as possible together while away” concluded Mr Smiddy.

Gloss at the Spa is the stylish little sister to The Spa at The Johnstown Estate and focuses on grooming and beauty treatments.  A gold and jewel-coloured suite, including a treatment room and twelve treatment stations, this is the perfect spot for exclusive use by a group of up to ten.    A typical booking would include two half-hour treatments, skin analysis and a make-up tutorial, accompanied by a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres.  All to the soundtrack of great conversation and Lo-Fi beats curated by Eoin Long[1].

Gloss at the Spa is the first stage of the full redesign and expansion of The Spa at The Johnstown Estate which will begin in early 2020.  It is also part of a €12.5m refurbishment programme that has been ongoing at The Johnstown Estate since 2018.
